FROM THE PASTORShalom! Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. On behalf of New Song Baptist, Church, I want to extend a welcome and, introduce you to our church.We are a congregation numbering about seventy. We were formed May 23, 1993 as, an autonomous Southern Baptist Church serving the greater Mt. Pleasant and Columbia area. We want to reach the Maury County area and beyond for the glory of, Jesus Christ. We are New Song Baptist Church. "O sing unto the Lord a new song; for He hath done marvelous things; His right hand and Holy arm have gained Him from the victory. The Lord has made known His salvation." Psalm 98:1,2 At New Song Baptist Church we believe we are at spiritual warfare. "Our ... adversary the devil stalks about seeking whom he may devour..." (I Peter 5:8). We believe the victory over the world, the flesh and the devil is accomplished through faith in Jesus Christ: "These things I have spoken unto you that in me you might have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33). At New Song Baptist Church, we believe that as Christians we must claim the victory that Jesus has given us. We must choose to believe in Him, learn of Him, commit to Him, and be His disciples, and follow Him in all that we say and do. Being a Christian is more than a philosophy ---it is a way of life! Jesus said, "The words that I give unto you are spirit and they are life." (John 6:63). We at New Song Baptist are sinners saved by grace. We are still growing spiritually; we have not "arrived." It is our burden to be a hospital for the broken hearted; a lighthouse or beacon to the lost; and an anchor for those experiencing the storms of life. (Luke 4:18,19). Wherefore we at New Song Baptist Church hold these truths as foundational to who we are and who we hope to become in our Lord Jesus Christ.

ABOUT OUR CHURCHNew Song Baptist Church was constituted May 23, 1993. The membership voted to affiliate with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). Daniel D Carlen was chosen as interim pastor. Brother Carlen accepted the call as the first full-time pastor in September, 1993. In October of 1993 New Song requested affiliation with Maury Baptist Association. We were received and placed on "Watchcare" for one year. In the October annual meeting, New Song was granted full membership status. This affiliation allows us to cooperate in mission effort at home and abroad to fulfill The Great Commission (Mt. 28:18-20). We are committed to missions following our Lord's model in Acts 1:8. This is our philosophy that compels our service. Our motive is the love of God and our Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:16).
OUR LOCATION
NEW SONG BAPTIST CHURCH is located on a prime comer intersection at Zion Road and U.S. 43 between Columbia and Mt. Pleasant, TN. Phase One contains ca. 6,300 sq. ft. of offices, classrooms, library and multipurpose worship area positioned at the back of the 20.5 acres. Our Master's Plan calls for Phase 11 and III to include 32,000 sq. ft. bldg. Containing education space for church and school, daycare, offices and a multi-purpose gym and cafeteria area. This unit is to be built in front of Phase 1. Phase IV is to be a worship auditorium with seating around 500 capacity. This is a God-Sized vision with humble beginnings as we pursue Christ's model of Lk. 4:18,19 - our church verse. Would you prayerfully consider whether God our Father would be leading you to become a part of what He is doing at 2585 Zion Road and through New Song Baptist Church. May He guide and direct your path (Ps. 119:105; Ps. 32:8) and service for His glory (Mt. 5:16).

The information above will aquaint you with our church and the vision that God has given us. Please fill out a guest card and place it in the offering plate or give it to an usher. We provide a nursery for children ages 4 and under-first room on th eright as you enter New Song Baptist Chruch. We pray that you enjoy your time with us as we seek to study God's Word and praise our Heavenly Father's name in song, fellowship and prayer. Before we can worship, we must be filled with the Holy Spirit and worship God in Spirit and Truth. This means we must be in fellowship with God. (Scriptural basis - 1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (John 4:24) Let us prepare our hearts for worship.
Why do we Study the Bible1. 2 Peter 3:18 tells us to:"Study to show ourselves approved a workman unto God." 2. We believe the Bible is God's Word. 3. We believe that because the Bible is God's Word, it is primary and central to our worship practice and experience. An experience not validated by God's Word is invalid and not to be sought or tolerated.
